LOCAL ADVERTISING PROS' WORK SHOWCASED AT ARTWALK MARCH 8 - Tuesday, February 12, 2008

CIUDAD DE LAFAYETTE (Feb. 12) — Stray just a bit from the standard path at ArtWalk next month and find something unusual: entertainment and effects more common to Madrid than Lafayette in a city square replete with work from local advertising and design professionals as art. 
Acadiana Advertising Federation will join Lafayette's 2nd Saturday ArtWalk on March 8 to display the best of local print and outdoor advertising for a one-night showing from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Iberia Bank at 200 W. Congress St.
ArtWalk visitors will be invited to vote freely for a single “Opción de la gente” (People's choice) award that will be presented later that night at the Acadiana Ad Fed's annual ADDY® awards show for advertising excellence. This is the second year that Acadiana Ad Fed conducts the ADDYs downtown in conjunction with ArtWalk and displays entries in gallery format.
Students of graphic design at UL Lafayette will also be eligible for ADDY awards; all student work will be displayed during ArtWalk at Gallery R at 116 E. Congress St.
Renowned creative industry professionals from large metro markets outside Louisiana have judged the entries and chosen winners from more than 200 entries. |
